CONCERTS!!!!

so today there's a concert at carnivore. the tusker thing where eve, shaggy n windeck are coming. sounds fun...

i have never been to a concert before(do not comment).... at first it was just the lack of opportunity thing...i did not start going out until i was late in my teens...now, its just phobia i have. CONCOPHOBIA....hahaha

it's in my early days when i still lived in highrise(the highrise estate off mbagathi) that i realized what really happend....by the way, this is before i was anywhere near my teens. we were constantly bullied by the big guys in the estate. you would get out your ball and they would play with it until it was dark.

if you were lucky, you would play with them...hahaha...think of my fat 8 year old ass in the premiership...that was more like how it was. or you would get your bike out over holidays at say 8am (how did we mange to wake up so early those days?) and they would take it and return it at say 7pm. the good thing is that...they always returned your stuff lest you went to their homes...

unfortunately for those guys who would go for night concerts at carni...they did not know these guys...nor their homes. so whatever the bullies picked could not be returned. after every major concert, the bullies in our estate would either be loaded or clad in new stuff. now you do not need to second guess where some poor kid got 8k timberland boots from...

The problem with carni at that time was its distance from the road. more so if you were javing...after you get off the mat, by the time you get to the concert gates you look like you just stepped out of a plane from Baghdad.

no shoes,no money, disheveled hair...guys would even turn up with no trousers. these days, the mugging happens inside carni...i won't even get into that...the stories are just as funny as they are sad.

and how can i forget how it rains on almost all concerts...

so i do not go for concerts, but i never missed any 6am event.

yeah...at least those first days when it was like a secret society and the rest of the guys were like...'what's that noise you guys listen to all night...i can barely get through a song...' and venues they had never heard of.no way the highrise bullies could get there...:-) then unfortunately, in their shift from ignorance...shit happened. these everybody listens to trance and house music. think of the tout in the mat and wanutty wa esto...

for me, aside from the fun and euphoria the music itself brings, it was the exclusivity of the whole thing.

i remember my first speakerz freakerz at the loft. it was nothing short of legendary... now look at earthdance three weeks. if you did not get your little bro or siz...it must have been the tout...hahaha

so its Saturday and where as guys are thinking about going to carni. i'm bored and just pissed. after my recent run ins with muggers in the middle of town...in broad day light, there's no way i will be taking myself to them in westy. i wouldn't mind them taking my phone though...hahaha.... i'm pissed that westy will be empty...girls love celebs...as witnessed here below....

and if you remember when RDX were in nairobi and the whole city was on al fours!! i have to say though that the craziness at the events is something i'm looking forward to experiencing.
